Top 3 To Do When Visiting Rome
Visit the Colosseum
No visit to Rome is complete without a visit to one of the 7 new wonders of the world, the Colosseum. This iconic amphitheater is a testament to the grandeur of the Roman Empire and its past. As you wander through the ancient corridors, you'll feel like you're stepping back in time. It's amazing to think of the work that went into building this and all the things that took place within the stadium. I highly recommend going on a guided tour to learn all about the history and details you can't see on your own.
Explore the Vatican City
Start with a visit to the Vatican Museums. You'll love the beautiful frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, including Michelangelo's ceiling masterpiece. Then head to St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world, where you'll see Pietà by Michelangelo. You can climb the dome for gorgeous views of the city too. Be sure to dress modestly when visiting the Vatican!
Eat Your Way Through The City
It's no secret that Rome (and Italy in general) has some of the most amazing food in the world. You can't go wrong with anywhere you land - pasta, pizza, gelato, and tiramisu...I'm drooling just thinking about it. Be sure to head to Alfredo alla Scrofa, the spot where Fettuccine alfredo was invented. Then head to Giolitti Gelato for arguably the best gelato you'll ever taste.
