Top 3 To Do When Visiting The Amalfi Coast
Go On A Boat Tour
To see the beauty of Positano's coastline, I highly recommend booking a boat tour. You can do a private or group charter. If you can swing the private, I would highly recommend that. It's so peaceful to be on the water, exploring all the great beach spots and seeing the Amalfi Coast from the water. Tours typically pick up from Positano and can range from 4-8 hours. We did an all-day boat ride and got to watch the sunset too. It was absolutely perfect.
Embrace "La Dolce Vita"
"La Dolce Vita", or "the sweet life" is something everyone should experience. You have to be in Italy to really grasp the meaning of the phrase. There is something so calming and special about experiencing days on the Amalfi Coast. The pace is relaxed, the people are friendly, and the life is just sweeter. To really embrace La Dolce Vita when visiting the Amalfi Coast, slow down and savor things, taste the local flavors, relax on the beaches, sip a cocktail at sunset, and interact with locals as much as possible.
Explore Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello
Positano is probably the most famous/photographed town on the Amalfi Coast. There are pastel-colored houses along the cliffside, and everywhere you turn is a photo op. Stroll around the streets, do some shopping in the fancy boutiques, and go to Spiaggia Grande, the famous pebbled beach. Positano is also one of the busiest parts of the Amalfi Coast and is central to a lot of the activities.
Amalfi is a little less "busy" than Positano. It is filled with history and has a lot of gorgeous architecture. Be sure to see the Piazza del Duomo, where you'll find the stunning Cathedral of Saint Andrew (Duomo di Sant'Andrea).
Ravello is a quaint hilltop town with stunning views. It's known for its art and music heritage and is an escape from the bustling coastal towns. Villa Rufolo is a 13th-century villa with gorgeous gardens and a Terrace of Infinity that feels like you're hovering above the ocean. Also, if you love music, be sure to see a concert at Villa Rufolo or Villa Cimbrone.
