Mykonos Travel Guide

My husband and I kicked off our 2 weeks in Europe with 1 day in Mykonos. Mykonos is known as the "Island of the Winds," - which makes sense after visiting because it's SO windy. From gorgeous beaches and charming villages to its famous nightlife (and beach clubs!), there is something for everyone to add to their Mykonos travel guide.

One thing to note: it is also one of the most expensive places to visit, so be aware of that when planning a trip to Mykonos! That said, it's one of the most popular Greek islands and is a ton of fun.

Keep reading for my top 3 must-do's when visiting Mykonos. And if you're thinking of planning a trip to Mykonos but don't want to plan, check out my Mykonos travel guide.

Top 3 Things To Do On Your Trip To Mykonos

Explore Mykonos Town

Mykonos Town, also known as Chora, is the heart of the island. There are a number of cute boutiques, art galleries, and cafes through the narrow alleyways. Mykonos Town is also home to the iconic windmills that overlook the town. Its white buildings and colorful blue doors/shutters are perfect for gorgeous photos too. And don't forget to explore Little Venice! There are cute restaurants that literally sit on the water's edge. It's the perfect spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset.

Experience The Mykonos Beach Clubs

Like I said, Mykonos is arguably most famous for its beach clubs and nightlife. The beach clubs, specifically, are something everyone should experience at least once. Not only are they fun, but they attract all types of people from all over the world. Scorpios and Nammos are some of the top (if not, THE top) and upscale beach clubs in Mykonos. Both have gourmet dining options as well.

Watch The Sunset At 180 Sunset Bar

We made reservations for 180 Sunset Bar ahead of time (around sunset) and it was such a great experience. Our reservation was for the 1st Row Windmill view and we had a minimum spend of $100€ / person. Each section usually has a minimum spend, but it's not hard to hit the minimum (it's Mykonos after all). 180 Sunset Bar sits on a hilltop overlooking the Aegean Sea and has gorgeous views of the island. The best part of 180 Sunset Bar is the sunset. They make it an experience and even time the sunset to a song. The sunset itself was amazing - and it felt so peaceful.

The vibe overall is relaxed, but upbeat. After the sun goes down, a DJ starts playing in one of the lower areas and you can stay as long as you want. 180 Sunset Bar was one of my favorite places that I've ever been to when traveling - I can't recommend it enough!
