Uluwatu is best known for it’s good surfing, beaches, and laid-back vibe (but I guess where isn’t in Bali, right?). This was the second spot we visited during our time in Bali, and it was the perfect segue from the Seminyak scene + lead up to to Ubud.
»RADDISON BLU BALI: After a drive from Seminyak, we got to our hotel in Uluwatu in the afternoon. The hotel had a great pool set up, so we grabbed a few drinks and lounged a bit. This hotel isn’t on the beach, but it’s pretty secluded if you’re looking for something more “off the beaten path”.
»SINGLE FIN: Single Fin is probably one of the most popular spots in Uluwatu (as I could tell by the dozens and dozens of motorbikes parked outside when you arrive. It’s a multi-story bar/restaurant with seating on a first come-first serve basis. It felt like I was watching the sunset on the edge of the world.
»BUCKIT CAFE: We walked to Bukit Café from our Uluwatu hotel, which took about 15 minutes. Bukit Café is a quaint coffee shop with delicious food (the avocado toast is a must) and a cool atmosphere. Totally a place I would curl up on a gloomy day and do work or read a book.
»BEACHES: After breakfast, we attempted to head down to the beach through a gate at the bottom of our hotel. It was quite an excursion, and I don’t really think we ended up where we meant to go. That being said, we aren’t surfers so we were really only looking for some great views of the cliffs + beaches (which we got).
»ULUWATU TEMPLE: Our hotel offered a shuttle service to the temple, so we headed there as the sun started to set. We spent about 45 minutes walking around and absorbing as much as possible.
»ULU CLIFFHOUSE: This was an amazing spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset. There is a lower bar area (where we watched the sunset) and then an upper level where the pool/tables are. Since we went during the week, it wasn’t as crowded. There is couch-like seating overlooking the ocean, amazing food + a DJ playing in the background. I never wanted to leave. We came for drinks + dinner, but they also have a fun brunch/pool party situation on the weekends.
