With so much information overall advice out in the world, it can be overwhelming to try and figure out simple ways to improve your life.
These simple ways to improve your life are just that..simple. You can easily start all 7 today and stick to the habits. Not only that, but I promise you’ll instantly start to feel even better about yourself and the focus you’re putting on your personal self-improvement.
SO, let’s get into it. Here are my 7 simple ways to improve your life today and increase your overall happiness:
1: Move For 20+ Minutes Daily
One of the best things you can do for yourself (and your body) is to dedicate 20 minutes a day to movement. Even if it’s a 20 minute walk or stretching session, moving your body every day will improve your overall health, both physically and mentally. Plus it will give you energy and endorphins (and we all know endorphins make you happy).
2: Drink More Water
We all know (I hope) that drinking enough water is super important and really good for you. This is one of the easiest things you can do for yourself. Get an insulated 32oz (or larger) bottle + a lid with a straw to get yourself to drink more water. Trust me, it’s the oldest trick in the book.
3: Schedule 20-30 Minutes of Personal Time Daily
This is super important, but not always so easy to do. Taking 20-30 minutes to yourself helps you to decompress and recharge. This can be anything to a bubble bath, walk outside, meditating, or even watching Real Housewives with a cold glass of Sauvi B (of course, that’s my favorite way to unwind). Maybe you are even extra efficient and combine this with your 20+ minute move goal with a walk + podcast 😉
4: Pay More Attention To Ingredients
This might seem overwhelming, but I promise it’s not! Paying more attention to ingredients in the foods you’re eating is one of the best ways to eat healthier/cleaner. I’ve noticed such a difference in my body and overall health since I’ve started paying more attention to what I was putting in it. Try to look for things that have minimal ingredients + not a bunch of added stuff. For example, I try to only drink almond or oat milk that only has almonds/water or oats/water. I also love pasta, so I will eat red lentil pasta (made with only red lentil flour) or hearts of palm pasta (made with only hearts of palm).
5: Set (or evaluate) Goals
Take the time to sit down and map out long term and short term goals to get your life organized. Pick the areas that are most important to you and choose 2-3 goals for each. For example: career, financial, relationships/family, health, self-improvement, etc). Mapping out goals will help you visualize and plan better. If you already have goals set, do a “goal check” and see how you’re tracking. If you’re not where you want to be, evaluate and figure out necessary steps to get closer.
6: Practice A “One Minute Or Less” Rule
Practice the “one minute or less” rule, meaning if you can complete a task in one minute or less, don’t put it off. Those little tasks will pile up and create more work for you in the long run (they’ll also continue to build up as stressors in your mind).
7: Organize Your Finances
Anything related to finances always seem complicated and stressful. Taking a little bit of time to organize your finances and budget effectively is another simple way to get + keep your life on track.
