Sometimes (okay maybe all the time) it’s difficult to get out of weekend mode going into the week. Sundays can feel like a limbo day. Like you’re not technically working, but your mind is trying to prepare for your week.
My goal on Sunday is to do whatever I can to make my week easier, while also not doing TOO much. I still want to enjoy my day off with some relaxation + thoughts other than obligations.
So – here are my 5 ways to prepare for your week on Sundays + set your week up for success:
1: Make Your To Do List
This takes all of 10 minutes (if that) and it’s so helpful to sit down and write out everything you need to accomplish for the upcoming week.
I also list out the workouts I want to do each day. Since I workout from home (Obé Fitness is my fave), I keep a “Workout” spreadsheet where I link the workouts I want to do for each day listed. I have the “Workout” spreadsheet saved to my bookmarks so all I have to do is open my computer, click the spreadsheet, + click the link for the day. It saves me SO much time each weekday morning.
*bonus: If there are items on your list that you can tackle, try and cross those off on Sundays. It will make you feel much more accomplished going into the week.
2: Prep Your Meals
For me, this usually includes going to the grocery store. Am I the only one that likes the routine of going to the grocery store on a Sunday? Probably.
Sundays is our grocery day. When I get home, I usually prep my meals as much as possible (Like: Cook a batch of quinoa for my quinoa + black bean wrap or batch make my salads and store in separate containers).
3: Fill Your Vitamin Container
Like I’ve said before, I fill up my weekly pill organizer once a week so I can easily grab it from the counter and quickly take my vitamins without having to go into each individual bottle. It takes all of 2 minutes and I usually do this while I’m watching TV.
4: Pick Out Your Outfits
I know I’m not the only one who can take forever to pick out my outfits. Adding more time to a morning by standing in front of your closet trying to come up with an ideal outfit for the day while you’re still half asleep isn’t the most efficient use of time. Spending 15 minutes on Sundays to plan out your outfits for the week will give you more time back in your week day mornings (and allow for a more relaxing start to your day).
Another important thing here is to prep your clothes. Like – take the time to think about what you have going on and make sure you do laundry or get them ironed/steamed.
5: Have An Evening Wind-Down
Last, but obviously the most important, prepare for your week by focusing on some sort of evening relaxation. This could be a bubble bath with candles, relaxing music + a glass of wine. Or an evening walk with a podcast. Or watching your fave reality tv show (again, with a glass of wine). My preference is FULL wind-down with a facial steam/face mask + reality tv + a glass of wine.
