For as long as I can remember, my mom has been making Holiday Coffee Cake at Christmas.
It’s a recipe she got from her mom and has been in the family for decades. The taste is SO nostalgic and takes me back to opening presents on Christmas morning while the Kenny G Christmas album plays in the background (+ eating the coffee cake, obviously).
And don’t get me started on the sweet cinnamon smell, especially as it’s baking in the oven!
Coffee cake isn’t ever my go-to, but this Holiday Coffee Cake tastes different than normal coffee cake. It’s lighter and sweeter at the same time. Disclaimer: it also has walnuts (they make it sooo delicious).
It’s a staple during holidays with the family – literally, I don’t think I can think of a Christmas without it. I’ve also started adding it to my Holiday Season Bucket List every year.
