Charleston, South Carolina is my ABSOLUTE favorite city and is quickly becoming one of everyone’s favorite places to visit. In fact, it’s been the #1 destination in the US for the past 10 years. There is something so charming about the city and its architecture. Not to mention, the food is some of the top in the world. Charleston is the perfect destination for foodies, history buffs, and bachelorette parties. It’s also great for a quick weekend trip or as a stop along a road trip of the South. Keep reading for the top 3 must-do’s when visiting Charleston. And if you’re thinking of planning a trip to Charleston, but don’t actually want to plan, check out my $5 Charleston travel guide.

Top 3 When You Visit Charleston
»HALLS CHOPHOUSE: As soon as you walk into Hall’s you’re greeted by a piano player, the smell of delicious southern food, and a warm welcoming feeling. Hall’s is the true definition of Southern Hospitality, and staff are constantly coming by each table to make sure you’re having a perfect time. As if the service and atmosphere wasn’t enough, the food is amazing. They’re know for their steaks, creamed corn, and crab cakes, but you can’t go wrong with any dish. It’s one of my favorite restaurants.
»SULLIVAN’S ISLAND: Sullivan’s Island is a quaint 2.5 mile island, filled with shops, restaurants, beaches and a little bit of history. Whether you’re looking to take a swim in the Atlantic, eat a good meal, or see the historic Fort Moultrie, Sullivan’s Island has a little bit of everything. A must is grabbing a bite to eat at Obstinate Daughter (my favorite is the Rutledge Pizza – it’s amazing).
»BOONE HALL PLANTATION: Boone Hall Plantation is probably one of the most famous and photographed plantations. The grounds are pretty big – perfect for exploring and submerging yourself in the history. It’s also one of the filming spots of The Notebook.
