Uluwatu Travel Guide
Uluwatu is best known for it's good surfing, beaches, and laid-back vibe (but I guess where isn't in Bali, right?). This was the second spot we visited on our 7 day Bali trip and it was the perfect segue from the Seminyak scene + lead up to to Ubud. We spent 2 days in Uluwatu and I felt like we saw most everything we had on our Uluwatu travel guide.

Where To Stay:
Splurge
Bulgari Resort Bali (~$1,000 USD/night): Resort with ocean view private villas, an oceanfront infinity pool, a spa, and multiple dining options.
Six Senses Uluwatu (~$700 USD/night): Stunning resort features private pool villas with ocean views, a cliff-edge infinity pool, a spa, and a few restaurants.
Alila Villas Uluwatu (~$700 USD/night): Eco-friendly resort with private pool villas, panoramic ocean views, a cliff-edge infinity pool, a spa, and an award-winning restaurant.
The Ungasan (~$500 USD/night): Still considered a luxury hotel, but on the lower end of price. Located on the Bukit Peninsula with an infinity pool. It's also home to Sundays Beach Club - a secluded beach club with food, drinks, and a DJ.
Save
Radisson Blu Bali Uluwatu (~$120 USD/night): This is where we stayed and it was great for the price. It's a more modern hotel with a few dining options, rooftop bar, and infinity pool.
Uluwatu Surf Villas (~$100 USD/night): Boutique hotel with ocean view villas, an infinity pool, a spa, and a restaurant.
My Uluwatu Travel Guide
Day 1
Radisson Blu Bali
After a drive from Seminyak, we got to our hotel in Uluwatu in the afternoon. The hotel had a great pool set up, so we grabbed a few drinks and lounged a bit. This hotel isn’t on the beach, but it’s pretty secluded if you’re looking for something more “off the beaten path”. It's also reasonably priced, especially for how well kept it is.
Single Fin
Single Fin is probably one of the most popular spots in Uluwatu – made obvious by the dozens of motorbikes parked outside when you arrive. It’s a multi-story bar/restaurant with seating on a first come-first serve basis. It felt like I was watching the sunset on the edge of the world.
Day 2
Buckit Cafe
We walked to Bukit Café from the Radisson Blu Bali hotel, which took about 15 minutes. Bukit Café is a quaint coffee shop with delicious food (the avocado toast is a must) and a cool atmosphere. Totally a place I would curl up on a gloomy day and do work or read a book.
Bingin Beach
After breakfast, we walked down to the beach through a gate at the bottom of our hotel. It was quite an excursion, and I don’t really think we ended up where we meant to go (LOL). That being said, we aren’t surfers so we were really only looking for some great views of the cliffs & beaches, which we got. Based on where you're staying, you'll be able ask what the easiest beach is to get to.
Uluwatu Temple
Before dinner, we went to the Uluwatu Temple to walk around and watch the sunset. Uluwatu Temple is located on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean in the southern part of the island. It’s also known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu, and is one of the six key temples believed to be Bali’s spiritual pillars. The temple is home to some mischievous monkeys, so make sure to keep your belongings close. We saw someone get their sunglasses taken by one!
Ulu Cliffhouse
This was an amazing spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset. Since we went during the week, it wasn’t as crowded. There is couch-like seating overlooking the ocean, amazing food + a DJ playing in the background. I never wanted to leave. We came for drinks and dinner, but they also have a fun brunch/pool situation on the weekends. I would try and make sure this is at the top of your Uluwatu travel guide!

Surfing at Uluwatu Beach
If you're a surfer, Uluwatu is one of the best places to be. Uluwatu Beach is a popular spot for surfers and has consistent waves no matter what time of year. It's best for intermediate to advanced surfers because of the reef break. Aside from being a great place to surf, you have amazing views to look at.
Bingin Beach, Padang Padang Beach, and Dreamland Beach
Gorgeous beaches for swimming, laying out, or surfing.
Yoga at Yoga Searcher Bali
Uluwatu has a lot of yoga studios, but Yoga Searcher Bali is special because of it's beautiful setting. It has views of the ocean and garden. The studio has daily classes and retreats for all levels.
The Rock Bar (@ the Ayana Resort and Spa)
The Rock Bar is an iconic spot in Uluwatu. It's on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean and has amazing views. The bar is built into the rock formations, and it's accessible only by a (scenic) ride down the cliffside. They serve great cocktails and food and play live music - it's the ultimate Bali vibe.
