Savannah is a city rich with history and great food. It's also the country's most haunted city (most locals will likely have a personal ghost story or two). It's a relatively walkable city, and it also has a ton of great tours to see and appreciate all parts of Savannah (but keep reading for more on that).

Top 3 Things To Do When Visiting Savannah

Take One Of The Many Tours (Trolley, Ghost, Food, etc)

There are many ways to see and learn about all that Savannah has to offer. We did a hop-on/hop-off trolley tour, and it was the perfect way to maximize our sightseeing. You can stay on the tour the entire time or hop off at the spots you want to explore.

Savannah is also the country's most haunted city. What better way to test that fact than going on a ghost tour? Savannah offers walking ghost tours, cemetery ghost hunting tours, and even a hearse ghost tour. You might even be lucky (or unlucky depending on how you look at it) to snap a pic of a ghost.

Another thing Savannah is known for is...the food. A walking food tour is another way to ensure you try all the unique dishes and delicious food that Savannah offers.

Walk Around The Squares & Parks Of The Historic District

You'll immerse yourself in Savannah's history by exploring the squares/parks in the historic district. Each is filled with rich history and special things to see. For example: Chippewa Square is where the bus stop scene in Forrest Gump was filmed. Or Forsyth Park which has a beautiful fountain built in 1858. Then there is Washington Square, named after President Washington, with some of the oldest homes in Savannah.

Explore Wormsloe Historic Site

Wormsloe Historic Site was once known as the Wormsloe Plantation. It was home to Noble Jones, one of Georgia's colonial founders. The oak-lined avenue is one of the more frequently photographed parts of Savannah. You can admire the grounds, visit the museum, or hike around.
