Top 3 Things To Do When Visiting Austin
Go On A Food Tour
It's no secret that Austin is known for amazing food. Barbecue, Tex Mex, and breakfast tacos are some of the most notable foods that Austin is known for. Whether you go on a guided food tour or plan one yourself, getting a taste of all that Austin has to offer is a must. Be sure to include Salt Lick BBQ, Chuy’s, and Torchy's Tacos on your list.
Enjoy The Music Scene
Austin is also known for its music scene. Nightly, you'll find venues with live music of all sorts. Austin is also home to music festivals such as Austin City Limits (ACL) two weekends in October, and South By Southwest (SXSW) two weeks in March.
Watch The Bat Flight
The bat flight is one of the most unique things to witness in Austin. It occurs every night from March to November between the hours of 7:30-9:45, depending on the month. Typically, you can count on it happening after sunset. The bat flight can take up to 45 minutes and you'll see thousands of bats fly over Lady Bird Lake. Head to the Congress Avenue bridge to watch and face East for the best view. It's a big attraction, so plan on getting there early to find parking and a spot to watch the flight.
