Top 2023 Memorial Day Weekend Destinations

1. Charleston, South Carolina

If you're looking for great food, weather, and beaches, Charleston is perfect. Charleston, South Carolina is my ABSOLUTE favorite city and is quickly becoming one of everyone’s favorite places to visit. It's actually been the #1 destination in the US for the past 10 years. There is something so charming about the city and its architecture. Not to mention, the food is some of the top in the world.

If Charleston sounds like the Memorial Day weekend destination for you, here's my Charleston travel guide.

2. New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans, aka "the big easy" is a city full of history, culture, and some of the best food and music you'll ever experience. The French Quarter is one of its most iconic neighborhoods, full of beautiful architecture, street performers, and plenty of places to grab a drink or a bite to eat. My personal favorite spot is Café du Monde, where you can grab a plate of warm, powdered-sugar-covered beignets. You can also find live music just about anywhere.

if you're looking for a Memorial Day weekend destination with non-stop entertainment, Las Vegas is the place to be! You can hit up the casinos on the Strip, catch a Cirque du Soleil show, or dance the night away at one of the many nightclubs. Plus, the warm weather means you can lounge by the pool all day - or go to one of the beach clubs. And don't forget the food! Vegas has some of the best restaurants in the world, from celebrity chef spots to classic buffets.

5. Savannah, Georgia

Savannah is a city rich with history and great food. It's also the country's most haunted city (most locals will likely have a personal ghost story or two). It's a relatively walkable city, and it also has a ton of great tours to really see and appreciate all parts of Savannah. Savannah is more of a relaxed town, making it a great spot to spend Memorial Day weekend.

6. Chicago, Illinois

Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time to explore Chicago, enjoy the warm weather, and take part in some of the many events happening around town.

First of all, the weather in Chicago in late May is absolutely gorgeous. After a long winter, the city really comes alive with sunshine and blooming flowers. Everyone is happy and ready to enjoy the outdoors too! You can stroll along the lakefront, take a bike ride on the many bike trails, or simply soak up the sun in one of the many parks.

If you're a fan of live music, you won't want to miss the Chicago Blues Festival, which takes place in Grant Park over Memorial Day weekend. It's the largest free blues festival in the world, featuring over 100 performers on multiple stages. You can enjoy the music while soaking up the sun and taking in the beautiful skyline views.
